Connection to the Games and what is Cannon

Spoilers ahead for Dragon age 1 & 2.
Time in relation to the game's.
The Wardens of Amaranthine takes place 6 months after the end of Dragon Age: Origins. This is in place of the Awakening Expansion, i.e the events of this Simm happened and the events of Awakening did not. Making this an alternate universe to the cannon (however all other canon is considered to have happened).
This takes place in the year that Hawke from Dragon Age 2 is either working for the Mercenaries or the Smugglers.
The Warden
All that has been decided about the protagonist from the first game is that they died killing the Archdemon. It is not all that important to the story if they were a Man, Woman, Human, Elf, Dwarf, Mage, Rogue or Warrior. How the Warden acted on his/her quest shouldn't come up either however if it does the decision will be made then and all will be informed.
Origin Stories
All the Origin Stories happened in some form, I.E the Couslands were assassinated, The dalish find the mirror, Bhelen has Train killed, etc. This is the case as most of these line come into play whatever story you picked to begin with.
